Stafford quickly retaliated by hitting Marvin Jones Jr. with a 28-yard scoring strike to trim the deficit to 17-14 with 5:17 showing on the clock. Against teams that are going nowhere in 2017 like the Browns and Bears, the Lions can get away with that.

Chicago (3-7) dropped its third game in a row and lost to Detroit for the eighth time in the past nine meetings. Cornerback Kyle Fuller was seen bleeding from his left wrist after the play, though he returned to the game. The Lions began driving in the finale and ultimately scored when Prater booted a 27-yard field goal to go up 24-17 with 10:01 remaining in the contest.
Stafford threw for 195 yards and two touchdowns in the first half to help the Lions grab a 21-17 lead.

Lions: DE Ezekiel Ansah (back) missed his second straight game. Bears WR Joshua Bellamy was placed in the league's concussion protocol after he was injured in the third quarter. Trubisky had his most success on play-action passes and also did a fair bit of scrambling including a miraculous 19-yard tuck-and-run that extended a drive late in the fourth quarter.
