A woman from Chennai's Adambakkam was killed after allegedly being set on fire by a man who had reportedly been stalking her. The victim's mother and sister have also been injured in the incident, as they tried to save the victim and have been hospitalized with severe burns.
Things took a bad turn on Monday night at 8.45, when Aakash went and banged on the door of Induja's house in Adambakkam AGS Colony, in Saraswathi Nagar. They both are now undergoing treatment and her younger sister is in ICU.
However, other reports claim that there had been an altercation between Indhuja and the stalker first, after which he poured the petrol on her.
The girl, who was followed by the stalker for over a month, succumbed to injuries.
As per The News Minute, Aakash, who lives in the neighbourhood, landed up outside Indhuja's residence on Monday night. Her mother Renuka opened the door and was initially reluctant to allow the man in, however, he persisted and demanded that Induja meet him. And she quitted the job last month as Ashok was continuously stalking her. Induja's uncle said that Ashok was stalking Induja since her father went overseas for some work. "As her mother asked me to take him out, I was pushing him out of the house when he suddenly set her on fire", the neighbour said. Renuka and Nivedha are undergoing treatment at Kilpauk Medical College (KMC) Hospital. Aakash absconded after committing the deed and was caught by the police later on.
