Rana Daggubati to play Anizham Thirunal Marthanda Varma - The King of Travancore

Rana Daggubati is now very much busy shooting for his new film 1945.

Reports suggest that Rana plays a soldier in the Subash Chandra Bose led army Azad Hind Fauj (Indian National Army). The second movie will be a continuation of Marthanda Varma where the story will be that of the successor of the king. Even the actor can not be blamed for this as the projects are so interesting that he can not take a risk by saying "no".

Rana announced the big news via his Twitter handle and has said that the movie is now in pre-production stage. It is primarily a Malayalam movie that will also release in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously. "Written by Robin Thirumala, Seven arts Mohan is the line producer on the film".

It's been a fantastic year for Rana, who is basking in the back-to-back success of Ghazi (underwater war drama - historical), Baahubali 2 (fantasy) and Nene Raju Nene Mantri. Regina Cassandra plays the leading lady and she will be seen as a simple Chettiar girl. "It's a very nuanced character".

After enthralling the audience by portraying the character of Bhallaladeva/Palvaalthevan in magnum opus Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion, young star Rana Daggubati has announced his next big project. While the Telugu version is titled 1945, its Tamil version is titled Madai Thiranthu. The film is bankrolled by SN Rajarajan under the banner K Productions.
