Daly withdrew from last week's event, too, citing his knee and saying he had arthritis. He was 4 under at the time after shooting a 69 in the first round and was 1 under in his second round. The leaders finished the day at 6 under.
John Daly withdrew from the PowerShares QQQ Championship on Saturday after collapsing on the ninth hole with an injured right knee.
But Daly's early departure from the tournament isn't surprising. He also pulled out of the Dominion Energy Charity Classic with the aforementioned bone spurs. Still, he was hopeful that a cortisone shot could get through the remainder of the PGA Tour Champions' Charles Schwab Cup playoff run.
Given how bad this looked, it's pretty unbelievable to think Daly was four under at the time and in contention for the title. Despite never boasting the healthiest lifestyle - to say the least - Daly has maintained a more than 30 year professional golf career.
