Man Utd eyeing £35.6m swoop for Espanyol left-back Aaron Martin

If the latest reports in the media are anything to go by then the Red Devils are interested in signing Spanish worldwide and Espanyol left back Aaron Caricol Martin.

But the Red Devils will have to pay the sum £35.5 million which is said to be the asking price for the player by Spanish club Espanyol.

The 20-year-old only signed a new deal in January which could keep him at the club until 2022.

Sources claim that it is hard to imagine him staying at RCDE Stadium beyond next summer or even beyond this January transfer window.

Jose Mourinho is using England veteran Ashley Young on the left side of the Manchester United defence as England global Luke Shaw continues to toil at Old Trafford.

Luke Shaw, Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo and Ashley Young have played in the position while Matteo Darmian, signed as a right-back by Louis van Gaal, started the 0-0 draw with Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.

In fact, ESPN FC's sources reveal that the Red Devils were in Spain to watch the 20-year-old play Levante, and subsequently asked the struggling side to be updated on the youngster's situation.

He has made just one appearance this season as a substitute in the 4-1 win over Championship side Burton Albion in the Carabao Cup.

Eric Bailly is set to miss the game as he continues his recovery from the groin injury that ruled him out at the weekend.
