N'Golo Kante to miss six Chelsea games?

Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante has reportedly been ruled out of action for the foreseeable future after sustaining a hamstring injury on worldwide duty.

Whether it comes at Palace or against Roma remains to be seen.

The Chelsea striker was sent home from worldwide duty with Spain with a grim medical diagnosis that suggested he would miss up to eight weeks due to injury. It was their second defeat of the season following the opening-day defeat to Burnley.

On the continent, too, Kante's injury comes as a blow to Chelsea, with the France global expected to sit out the two Champions League meetings with Roma.

Morata has scored six goals and made two assists in seven Premier League games for the Blues so far this season since his move.

The duo shield Chelsea's defence effectively and allows for the wing-back pair to break forward on a whim, safe in the knowledge that one of Kante or Bakayoko is covering the space they vacate when they look to stretch opponents.

Initially, it was thought that Kante wouldn't be out for that long but he has since been assessed by Chelsea's medical staff and the conclusion is worse than first thought.

The global break is basically over, but it didn't quite go exactly to plan.

Fortunately for Conte, he has strength in depth in the middle of the park following Danny Drinkwater's deadline day capture, though the England worldwide is yet to feature for his new side on the back of his switch to Stamford Bridge.

The report now claims that this could rule him of Chelsea's next six games in all competitions.
