Yusuf Pathan wouldn't have asked for a better start to Ranji Trophy 2017-18 campaign with Baroda, as the burly all-rounder hammered back-to-back centuries in the first match itself against Madhya Pradesh recently. Although the efforts of Pathan brothers were not enough to save Baroda from following on.
In the first innings, Yusuf smacked 13 fours and six sixes to score 111 off 125 balls. The brotherhood between is a known fact and it is no surprise that Irfan is celebrating the century from Yusuf and has shared it on the social media. After that, they once again dismissed Baroda for 318 and chased down a small target of 70. In reply to the mammoth total of 551 posted by the opposition, the visiting side was reeling at 54/4. Pathan brothers then came together and combined for their side.
They added 188 runs partnership for the fifth wicket and kept their team in a respectable position.
In the video, it can be seen that as soon as Yusuf reached his century with a huge hit, Irfan left his bat at the non-strikers end, he shouted at his loudest pitch celebrating his elder brother's feat. He tweeted, "That's how the big man @iamyusufpathan got to his 100 #pureemotion #sheerjoy #love". He resorted to hitting boundaries in his innings and score as many runs as he can and take his team out of danger.
However, Yusuf's twin centuries had no bearing upon the result as Madhya Pradesh sauntered to a win by eight wickets, claiming crucial points at the start of the season.
The 34-year-old remained unbeaten on 136 off just 154 balls with 16 fours and seven sixes.
