The new Kindle Oasis features a high-resolution Paperwhite display, thin ergonomic design and IPX8 waterproofing. Starting today, customers can pre-order the new Kindle Oasis for $250.
Amazon has announced a refresh for its most-advanced eReader, the Kindle Oasis, which will see the device gain IPX8 waterproofing. It features additional LED lights for night time reading compared to last year's Oasis and includes 12 LEDs for uniform lighting. Whether you want to read in the bath, the swimming pool or even in the rain- you name it- Amazon's latest Kindle can withstand being plummeted into two meters of water for up to 60 minutes. Whilst the Kindle is dissimilar to last year's in several ways, the ambient light sensors that automatically adapt, dependent on your surroundings, are still intact, alongside a very similar model and design.
The Kindle Oasis comes with Bluetooth connectivity to let you connect wireless headphones or speakers. The hand grip with physical buttons used to turn the pages better is also well-received. The default storage capacity is 4GB and can be increased to 8GB. The 32GB version will also be available with a 3G connection for [$280], which can be used within more than 100 countries.
In the U.S., the company is offering a 4G model for the cellular variant, but in India, it's offering a Wi-Fi + free 3G model, where the company pays for the 3G connectivity enabled by Amazon Whispernet.
Amazon.ca has unveiled the all-new Kindle Oasis, the company's newest e-reader.
The water-safe fabric covers can be purchased for Rs 2,999 and come in indigo, charcoal and sandstone colours. Moreover, with Kindle Unlimited offer Amazon claims to have over 1 million eBooks available at starting price of Rs 149 per month.
