The OPP says two people, a man and a woman, have been killed in a crash involving a transport truck and auto on Highway 6 near Campbellville Road in Hamilton.
Hamilton fire spokesman Claudio Mostacci said firefighters responded to reports of a transport truck colliding head-on with a vehicle.
Kerry Schmidt confirmed a man and woman were killed in the crash.
The vehicle was allegedly being pursued by Waterloo Regional Police before the crash.
It is believed the crash occurred in relation to a chase involving Waterloo Regional Police officers.
Monica Hudon of the Special Investigations Unit said the provincial agency is investigating the crash. The highway is closed in both directions between Freelton Road and Concession 10. Two people have been killed, she said.
Drivers should avoid the area.
