Pakistani actor-singer-model Ali Zafar expressed his disappointment over the barrage of social media reactions to a picture that captured Pakistani actress Mahira Khan and Ranbir Kapoor smoking outside an alley in the New York City. Parineeti Chopra, who is all set to star in Golmaal Again said, "I'll just say one line".
In the pictures Mahira and Ranbir can be seen smoking together out on a NY street. He wrote, "Every woman has the right to make her own choices in life (as long as she's not hurting anyone else) just like we men do".
"How we react defines our own character". Not just gossipmongers, the picture has also attracted the attention of trolls. He wanted to be kept out this and asked the media people to contact the person who was seen in the pictures. "Today, because of social media, everything becomes too big a deal".
Judwaa 2 actor Varun Dhawan also echoed Parineeti's thoughts and said, "Shame on them for shaming her", Varun said in an interview while responding to the story. It's not that I saw these pictures before or I know anything about this already.
"You see, Ranbir is a young star, he is unmarried, he's a bachelor". He said that it was not ok to invade his privacy. He further added that he was a young man who had a choice to meet any girl.
"If they were dating or seeing each other, wouldn't people in Mumbai know?".
The pictures were taken in July, when Ranbir was filming for Sanjay Dutt's biopic. "So, these rumours are only dumb".
Pakistani celebrities such as Momina Mustehsan, Ali Zafar, Neelam Muneer, Urwa and Mawra Hocane and Osman Khalid Butt also supported Mahira Khan, giving her more strength. Until then, can we please put a stop on the moral brigade that is slut-shaming Mahira Khan?
