At least eleven people are so far injured after a Porsche Boxster Spyder attempting a burnout ran into a crowd of people attending a Cars and Coffee event in Boise this morning, according to news reports.

According to preliminary information, the gray Porsche was leaving a parking lot of the event, when the driver reportedly lost control and sped into a crowd of visitors. Six people were taken to the hospital in ambulances, LeBar said shortly before 1 p.m.

The driver was on scene cooperating with police.

A PORSCHE lost control and ploughed into a crowd of spectators at an Idaho auto show, injuring at least 11. The driver then lost control “while going too fast”, went up over the sidewalk and onto the grass where onlookers were sitting.

A witness on the scene told The Idaho Statesman that the vehicle had been “showing off” for the crowd.

Cars and Coffee is a monthly event, between April and September, where vehicle enthusiasts gather together to “share their passions”, according to the event website.

“A vehicle in a auto show on Overland Rd crashed into the crowd injuring 11 people”.

LeBar said the driver was among several who had turned right off of Entertainment Avenue onto eastbound Overland Road.

No one has yet been cited, said LeBar.
