In a series of tweets, Airtel said its partnership with SK Telecom will create the most advanced telecom network in India and dramatically improve customer experience. It has partnered with Airtel to build the most advanced telecom network in the country.
The two telecom firms will work together to enhance the standards for 5G and advanced technologies like network functions virtualisation (NFV), software-defined networking (SDN) and Internet of Things (IoT).
In addition to improving its network technology across India, Airtel will also develop its 5G business which may be introduced in India as early as next year.
"SK Telecom is delighted to announce a strategic partnership with Bharti Airtel, a global leading mobile operator", said Park Jung-ho, the President and CEO of SK Telecom. Presently, SK Telecom offers up to 500 MBPS 4G speed with their carrier aggregation technology.
SK Telecom and Nokia have reduced the latency between LTE handset and base station from 25ms to 2ms by applying Uplink Pre-Scheduling, a technology that enables the handset to immediately transmit data to the base station, and short Transmission Time Interval (TTI), a technology that reduces data transmission time between base station and handset to about 1/7.

The Indian operator, in its own terms, claims SK Telecom as the most advanced mobile broadband operator in the world.
Specifically, the solution provides the automatic optimization of a network by artificial intelligence, real-time quality prediction through big data analysis, the detection of and countermeasure against abnormality signs in all areas of the network.
Both the companies have pledged to work across several areas which will include developing the bespoke software to enrich the network experience by leveraging the advanced telecom tools from SK Telecom, which will include machine learning, big data and building custom tools.
