Slayings of Calgary couple and Edmonton man linked

Calgary police, along with the Edmonton Police Service, have released photos of three persons of interest in what investigators believe were two gang-related shootings past year.

Cuc Lung, 34, and Quang Tran, 38, were shot as they sat in a auto at a house in Redstone in northeast Calgary on September 20, 2016.

Lung's five-year-old son was in the auto at the time of the shooting. He was not injured.

Tran was pronounced dead at the scene, while Lung was rushed to hospital, where he succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.

Cuc Lung, 34, and Quang Tran, 38, were fatally shot as they sat in a vehicle in Redstone in northeast Calgary in September 2016.

In another shooting in Edmonton the following month, a man was found dead on his driveway.

Police are also seeking information on two additional persons of interest (pictured below) in connection with the deaths.

There is no danger to the public as the shootings are believed to have been targeted, police said.

"The victims that were involved in these matters, in one way or another, to one degree or another, are involved in what I would describe as an organized crime lifestyle", Calgary police Insp.

Calgary police are working with their Edmonton counterparts to identify three persons of interest in the homicides of three people. "So they could be anywhere in either Edmonton or Calgary".

The pictures were taken in Edmonton around the time of Phan's killing.

Anyone in Calgary with information about the LUNG, TRAN and PHAN homicides or the men in the photos is asked to contact police by calling the non-emergency line at 403-266-1234 or the Homicide Unit Tip Line at 403-428-8877.
