An alleged screenshot that shows the Mi Mix 2 lockscreen in action is doing the rounds of the Internet, seemingly confirming the phone may come with facial recognition as a means to unlock the device. Now as per a new rumour, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 will be featuring 3D facial recognition for unlocking the smartphone. Xiaomi has collaborated with the French-based designer, Philippe Starck to design the Mi MIX. While the Mi MIX isn't the first bezel-less smartphone, the company has totally redefined the smartphone world with all the innovative features and master class design.
Talking about the design part, the smartphone will come loaded with the ceramic back panel but will have a higher screen-to-body ratio of 95 percent, up from 91 percent in Mi Mix.
DOOGEE MIX is a cheap alternative to Mi MIX, that offers 720p OLED screen powered by Helio P25 SoC with 4 or 6 GB RAM. The Mi Mix 2, like Samsung's phone, may come with the feature out-of-the-box.
According to a #Report published by Gizmo China, the smartphone with 6GB of RAM alongside 128GB of internal storage is expected to be available at a starting price of $599, while the one offering 8GB of RAM along with 256GB of internal storage is going to be available for around $749. Today, Philippe Starck's Facebook page has posted the concept video of the upcoming Mi MIX 2. The Mi Mix 2 will likely have a near bezel-less screen - with reports suggesting up to 93 per cent of screen-to-body ratio - like the original Mi Mix which was launched in October a year ago. Chances are the company may launch the Mi Mix 2 around the same time-frame. The bottom chin of the design holds the selfie camera.
The bottom end is seen carrying a USB-C port in the middle and a pair of external speakers towards its right.
But as the video proceeds, showing the Mi Mix 2 from all angles, the beauty of the device surfaces gradually. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core 2.45GHz processor with Adreno 540 GPU. The smartphone is likely to sport a 12-megapixel dual camera setup on the rear and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
