The crash happened just a few hours after a auto plowed into a crowd of people peacefully protesting against the white nationalist rally.

Virginia State Police said Tuesday that the funeral for Trooper-Pilot Berke M.M. Bates has been set for Friday at St. Paul's Baptist Church in Richmond. The cause of the crash remains under investigation at this time.

There have also been several reports of urine being tossed at reporters and the air is said to be filled with pepper spray, mace, and tear gas. Last night, they held an impromptu rally at the University of Virginia, which led to violent clashes with counter-protesters.
During the controversial rally, the National Guard was also deployed. "Their deaths are a tremendous loss to our agency and the Commonwealth", Flaherty added, referring to Cullen and Bates.
The two victims were the only people on board the helicopter and there were no injuries to anyone on the ground, state police spokeswoman Corinne Geller said.
