Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger intends to keep Jack Wilshere this season

Aston Villa are reportedly interested in Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere and have enquired about the availability of the England worldwide.

Wenger, however, is looking to keep Wilshere at Arsenal in the hope he can get fit and prove his deserves a new contract.

In a report by the Daily Star, the Gunner's manager was said to have been very clear in his attitude towards keeping the 25-year-old on the books for this term, amid reported interest from other clubs.

The England worldwide has just one year left on his current contract with the Gunners and as his first team prospects look slim at the Emirates for this season, it is likely that he will be sold before the transfer deadline day.

Recent media speculation has suggested that Italian clubs Sampdoria and Juventus are interested in signing Wilshere, while Aston Villa are also believed to be keen on a deal.

"I wanted first him to come back, he is coming out of a fracture. I think he needs games now", said Wenger. He might play again on Monday night. He is not far away now.
