But, it could only be seen in a limited number of areas in the Northwest.

Ever since I read Mark Twain's "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court" as a young girl, l have wanted to experience a total eclipse of the sun. If not, you will really wonder what all the hoopla is about.
The partial eclipse is scheduled to start in Brookings at 11:37 a.m. "But, here in Greensboro, we won't be in the path of totality", she said.
An eclipse is a special event because the Moon appears to cover the Sun.
The major challenge that a lot of people will be facing will be the identification of the right glasses.
Ready to view the big eclipse?
These glasses are in high demand and in recent weeks NASA has issued safety warnings to educate consumers about fake eclipse viewing glasses on the market. Basically, the "eclipse glasses" are relatively cheap costing between $1 and $2 each.
There are several viewing opportunities and gatherings for those staying in Lubbock, many providing eclipse viewing glasses, including the Solar Eclipse Viewing Party happening at the Science Spectrum, which is sponsored by KFYO. I ordered some from @amazon & apparently they shipped from China & won't make it in time. Better yet, bring spare parts just to be sure.
"It's getting hard to find them now", he said. If possible, it might be a good idea to plan your viewing for out in the country.
To get these glasses, you need to chat with the USA distributor, but German company Baader Planetarium is offering an assortment of solar viewing products.
A second eclipse glasses seller based in Tucson, Ariz., Lunt Solar System, said their products are also verified but under a recall anyway.
