Goode spent part of two offseasons with Jacksonville before signing with the Packers on September 1, 2008.
The two will compete to be the Packers' long snapper in 2017. Goode was the Packers primary long snapper from 2008 to 2016. For the next nine seasons, the job was Goode's to lose. He has played in 142 regular season games and 14 playoff contests. Rookie Derek Hart has been handling the long snapping duties during training camp.
Goode's signing puts the Packers back at a maximum of 90 players on the active roster after releasing Letroy Guion last Tuesday.
The Packers did not release Hart. He will be wearing No. 61 again this season.
