A man is accused of attacking and killing his mother in her Long Island home with a hammer early Saturday morning before doing the same to his sister and his sister's friend. The other woman who was visiting was injured but managed to escape and hide in a neighboring backyard until help could arrive.
Nassau County Police responded to a report of an assault at a home on Perry St. near Crowell St.in Hempstead, where they found four victims of an attack.
The fourth woman who escaped is reported to be in stable condition at Nassau County Medical Center. Three of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene and the surviving victim is being treated.
Simpson was a family friend who had stopped in for a visit after work on Friday night, her parents told Newsday.
The women suffered blunt force trauma, but cops would not elaborate, said Det. He said the incident was a targeted event, not random.
