Jose Mourinho insists Manchester United's transfer activity is sufficient

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville says he has "no doubt" that Nemanja Matic's move from Chelsea to Old Trafford was not sanctioned by Blues manager Antonio Conte.

"I don't think I'm in a position of crying, moaning, protesting".

"I have no doubt that he has not sanctioned that move, he is not happy with it and ultimately he is uncomfortable with it", Neville added.

"I'm happy with the club's efforts".

A winger is said to be Mourinho's fourth and final target and he's been linked with moves for Inter Milan's Ivan Perisic as well as Real Madrid star Gareth Bale.

With plenty of time until deadline day, The Grapevine has the very latest football transfer news from the Premier League's top clubs in our round-up below.

United begin the new league season with a home clash against West Ham United on Sunday, with Mourinho hopeful of getting off to a good start as they look to improve on last term's disappointing sixth-placed finish.

"If we cannot strengthen the team in these areas we have players that we can trust".

The 35-year-old free agent, who scored 28 goals for the club last season, is battling back to fitness after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury in April, though, and Mourinho insisted there is no rush to get a deal done. "I just think he was very clear showing what he did past year was not enough for him".

"They have signed Bakayoko from Monaco to replace Matic, but he has to come in and hit the ground running because Chelsea want to go far in the Champions League and defend the Premier League trophy", Wright told BBC Sport.

"I think they're going to sign a couple of players and I think as long as Hazard gets fit and firing", Lampard said about his former side. One off payment, just £6.99.
