Kochi: DGP Loknath Behra said that he will give an explanation in the court for the allegations raised by actor Dileep in his new bail petition submitted to the High Court. The court also asked the prosecution to present their argument on the same day.
The High Court is slated to consider Dileep's bail application on August 18.
Kochi: Police sources indicated on Saturday that the information conveyed by actor Dileep to DGP Loknath Behera through WhatsApp can not be considered as a complaint.
Dileep is accused of masterminding the assault and molestation of a Malayalam actress in February. "The police did only that", Behera said, adding that he did not want to elaborate.
In a surprise move, the special investigation team probing the attack on the actress arrested Dileep on the night of July 10. In his bail application, the actor had severely criticised the cops and even alleged that the entire case was fabricated by them. Suni might have been around there in the hotel.
In the new petition, besides alleging a "large-scale conspiracy" by a small but powerful section of the film industry against him, he has claimed that he had no connection with the main accused Pulsar Suni. They also equally influenced media persons, police and political leaders.
Dileep has also levelled some serious charges against filmmaker VA Shrikumar Menon and Liberty Basheer, and investigating official ADGP Sandhya.
