THE best time to have sex is at 7.30am, around 45 minutes after the best time to wake up, boffins have discovered.
The survey for Forza Supplements, which monitored the body clocks of 1 000 adults who lead healthy and active lives, also found the optimum times to work, eat, drink and exercise to maintain fitness and avoid putting on weight. At this time, energy levels are high after waking up from rest, which means both participants have more stamina.
New research has revealed the best time for getting it on.
Researchers worked out the optimum time to do popular activities, and suggested that sex is best done first thing in the morning because energy levels are highest, and the hormones that make us feel good throughout the day are surging.
Researchers said the best time for sleep is at 10.10pm - allowing for 20 minutes to get to sleep and 90 minutes of the most restorative non-REM sleep which is most likely to occur prior to midnight. Your concentration, memory, focus and creativity should be best at this time of the day. Male testosterone levels peak in the morning, meaning they last longer in bed. Use this period to do that work that needs your best thinking, rather than using it for other tasks. This is especially important for earlier days of the week when stress levels are higher. Four out of ten respondents (39%) said that mid-afternoon was when they were most likely to break a diet.
According to 72% of the respondents, the key to healthy eating was to keep up an even, steady calorie intake throughout the day.
Studies have found that strength is at a low point in the morning and gradually climbs until it peaks in the early evening.
It also found that the ideal time for a run is just before - at 7am.
Personal opinions on the best time of day to engage in activities such as sex or drinking are naturally purely subjective, but a new research finds that there apparently is a specific optimal time to have sex.
