3 arrested in Detroit drive-by that killed 14-year-old girl

Three men have been arrested in the slaying of a 14-year-old girl and wounding of her 17-year-old brother and another person during a drive-by shooting in Detroit.

The prosecutor charged 19-year-old Robert H. Moore, the alleged triggerman, as well as Dwayne A. Sharpe, 24, and Anthony D. Rodgers, all of Detroit, in the shooting.

Sharpe and Rodgers are accused of being in the auto Moore was driving and aiding and abetting the shooting at 10:40 p.m. August 3 at a home in the 19900 block of Waltham.

Jamesha attended East English Village Prep Academy, and we're told she was excited for a new school year and that she would have joined the cheer squad.

Each is charged with first-degree premeditated murder, assault with intent to murder, discharging a firearm from a vehicle causing death, discharging a firearm from a vehicle causing serious impairment, discharging a firearm at a building causing death, and discharging a firearm at a building causing serious impairment. Additionally, Moore faces six counts of felony firearm.

Police haven't yet given a motive for the shooting.

They face August 23 probable cause conferences and August 30 preliminary examinations. The hearings are scheduled before 36th District Court Judge William McConico. She was rushed to a hospital by family members but died from the gunshot wound.
