Defender 'Agrees Five-Year Deal' To Join Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford

Today, Man Utd close-in on Serge Aurier....

Chelsea have a "real" possibility at competing for Paris Saint-Germain right back Serge Aurier's transfer alongside Inter Milan, according to Sky Italia reporter Gianluca Di Marzio.

But the French giant brought former Barcelona defender Dani Alves to Paris this summer from Juventus, leaving Aurier down the pecking order.

Aurier has 39 caps for Ivory Coast - with whom he won the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations - and had also been linked with a move to Man Utd's title rivals Chelsea in recent weeks.

The same article says that Chelsea or Manchester United could be free to sign the right-back this summer after PSG made a decision to put him up for sale.

Blues boss Antonio Conte is eager to sign a new full-back this summer and has added Aurier to his wish-list.

A hurdle standing in the way of a smooth transition between clubs is the Ivorian's outstanding legal issues stemming from an altercation with a police officer a year ago.

The full-back is now awaiting an appeal hearing after being blocked from entering the United Kingdom following his conviction for assaulting a police officer outside a nightclub in Paris previous year.

Although Jose Mourinho's club is yet to agree a fee with PSG, Goal says Aurier has completed personal terms with United and will be at Old Trafford until 2022.
