Stoke City midfielder close to Monaco switch

Torino, Nice and Galatasaray have all been linked with the central midfielder, but Imbula looks set to return to Ligue One with last season's title winners - with French newspaper L'Equipe, via Stoke Sentinel, reporting that he has agreed personal terms with Leonardo Jardim's side.

The Principality club are prepared to offer the Frenchman an escape route from Britannia Stadium, and they have reportedly agreed personal terms with the 24-year-old footballer.

And, as per the aforementioned report from Footmercato, it looks as though Imbula will get the chance to resurrect his career back in France, with Ligue 1 giants Monaco very close to taking him to the Stade Louis for next season.

The former French U21 worldwide only managed nine starts last season, and Footmercato claim that Monaco's offer is a chance for Stoke to cut their losses.

After spending last season on loan with Stoke City, Sky Sports report that Porto defender Bruno Martins Indi is set to join the Potters on a permanent basis in a deal costing around £7million.

Stoke start their new Premier League campaign this weekend when they face Everton at Goodison Park.
