South West PDP to Sanction Kashamu Over Anti-Party Activities

South West PDP to Sanction Kashamu Over Anti-Party Activities

Buruji Kashamu and others who plunged the party into needless crisis confronting it.

Twenty delegates from each of the South-West states were invited for the meeting.

The crisis rocking the South West zone of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) got messier on Tuesday as a faction backed by Senator Buruji Kashamu declared the members and leaders of the party who gathered in Ibadan, Oyo state as impostors.

They include Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, a former Deputy National Chairman (South), Chief Bode George, former Ogun State Governor Otunba Gbenga Daniel, former Osun State Deputy Governor Iyiola Omisore, Dr. Saka Balogun, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, Elder Wole Oyelese and a former Southwest Zonal Chairman, Alhaji Tajudeen Oladipo. "In a couple of months, the Pharaoh that we see today, we shall see him no more", Kashamu said.

"The history of my life is enough for me to know that if you fall, that doesn't mean that you can not rise". This party must be protected because we are holding it in trust for Nigerians.

He said: "All people that are destabilising the peace in PDP, we must sanction them".

"I am not one of the people who will tell the APC that it is a good party". They are only deceiving you. The only thing they do is to see that the PDP die ahead of 2019 but the average man on the street can see and they can measure the difference. They can not wait for electionS in 2019 to get rid of these people because they are exhausted of them. Otherwise, they would have known that Article 57 (7) of the Constitution of PDP states, 'Notwithstanding any other provision relating to discipline, no Executive Committee at any level, except the National Executive Committee, shall entertain any question of discipline as may relate or concern a member of the National Executive Committee, Deputy Governors or members of the National Assembly'.

"We unequivocally condemn the hostile, authoritarian and destabilizing activities of Ekiti State governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, and demand that he should be called to order before he sounds the death knell of the party in the South West".

"A blind man can not lead us with money that has no source". Since he went to the Senate, he has not spoken a word. We are not ready to have anything to do with him again.

"I am assuring the national caretaker committee that the whole structures of South-West, including the Mobilization Committee that has been in existence before, we are going to mobilise all the voters in the South-West so that Senator Makarfi would record a resounding success in the assignment he has been given", he assured.

The senator said: "Although I know that he lacks the wherewithal to pull through his wishes, let me quickly state that I am not afraid of any expulsion".

He urged the Ogun State chapter of the party which is the primary constituency of Kashamu to do away with anything that has to do with Senator Kashamu and stop dealing with him henceforth.

"The authentic zonal leadership and stakeholders hereby declares Fayose a persona non grata and dissociate the zone from his activities".

This was just as he assured that his leadership would "continue to reach out and appeal to all those who had left the party as a result of the high-handedness and intolerant activities of Fayose and his cohorts from the South-West zone".
