Like last year's game, this sequel will be serialised as well, and is being described as a "season" by developer Osmotic Studios.
Check out the teaser trailer embedded above.
Just like the first season, Ignorance is Strength casts players as a member of the government who must make hard decisions to decide the course of the country, in this case a fictitious place called The Nation. With The Nation and Parges falling into civil unrest, players will need to alter the truth and reinforce ignorance. You'll have to decide how far you'll go in exercising that power to resolve a political crisis that threatens the security of your country; is the truth sacred, no matter what? While the first season was like a playable version of Big Brother, the second will take its inspiration from recent issues and adversities.
The original game was both commercially successful and critically acclaimed, winning multiple awards and receiving prestigious nominations including the IGF Excellence in Narrative and an Honorable Mention in the IGF Seamus McNally Grand Prize. And in terms of gameplay features, you'll have "more control" over the investigation.
Get ready, Trump-fans/enemies. Orwell Season 2: Ignorance is Strength is coming out on PC, Mac, and Linux "soon".
