During the presentation which was live streamed on Twitch, Youtube, and Facebook new information was given about Star Wars Battlefront 2, Spider-Man, and last but not least Kingdom Hearts III. Today, at Disney's D23 Expo, it was confirmed that the game would arrive sometime in 2018.
Kingdom Hearts creator and video game legend Tetsuya Nomura announced the world on stage, revealing, 'I've always hoped that Toy Story would be part of the Kingdom Hearts series. A shame it's not coming to PC or the Switch, but then again... it's still a year out from release so anything can happen.
Kingdom Hearts was released in 2002. We have to come up with a world that has a lot of originality.
From the screams in the room at D23, we're guessing they are. "Don't focus on other platforms, '" Nomura told IGN.
A key trait of Kingdom Hearts is the universe packed full of worlds based on Disney properties.
Kingdom Hearts III will launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Somehow the Heartless have made their way into this world, and there's a brand new original storyline to go along with the Toy Story-themed world with new toys, Keyblades, and more.
If you can't wait until next year (at the earliest, presumably) to get your fix of Kingdom Hearts, don't worry. The game is now in development for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
