Feden said that Constand stopped calling Cosby after leaving her job at Temple.
Bill Cosby's primary accuser says she was returning his messages when she called him numerous times after he allegedly drugged and violated her.
" 'The lights were dim and the fire was going, ' the lawyer continued. She viewed him like a father", she said. Agrusa asked, referring to their first dinner. Already, Cosby's defense team has leaned on the sympathy of the jurors for Cosby as a "grandfather"-like figure".
"I think I've stated on the record that there was a lot of confusion trying to put a lot of dates together", Constand said in response to a question by defense lawyer Angela Agrusa.
"Mr. Cosby had already made clear that he had affection for you", Ms Agrusa said. He said, 'I apologize to Andrea and I apologize to you, Mom'.
In the first recorded call played for the jury between Gianni and Bill Cosby, courtroom reporter Watts told Radar, Cosby is heard inquiring about Andrea's interest in sports broadcasting, seemingly offering to help her on her way, and to pay for her schooling.
Constand has testified about how her professional relationship with the Temple University trustee evolved into a friendship.
Cosby's wife, Camille, is supposed to attend the trial at some point, Wyatt told PEOPLE, but she has yet to make an appearance.
"You're coming to the man that assaulted you and you're bringing him bath salts?"
"I learned more about it from the defendant than I did from her", Gianna Constand said. Andrea Constand's mother also took the stand where she won the hearts of the courtroom but became emotional when asked about phone calls she had with Cosby.
Asked why she visited Cosby again after that initial incident, Constand replied, "I wasn't scared of someone making a pass at me or an advance at me".
Breaking down in tears, she told the courtroom, "They were good friends".
According to LawNewz, Kyle Hunter accused Allred and two other attorneys with her firm of failing to interview witnesses and produce affidavits.
"I started an aggressive conversation with him", said Gianna Constand, describing a 2 ½ hour phone conversation that followed with Cosby on January 16, 2005, during which she asked the entertainer to identify the pills he allegedly gave to Andrea.
The defense, too, remained mum about whom it might call - a list that could include Bruce L. Castor Jr., the Montgomery County district attorney who declined in 2005 to prosecute Constand's case, citing concerns about her ability to withstand challenges to her credibility. "He called me "mom" throughout the entire call and said, 'Don't worry mom, there was no penile penetration".
"He was sorry for what he did", Constand insisted.
Cosby has faced allegations of sexual assault from dozens of women, though Constand's accusation is the only one to lead to criminal charges. Constand's case is the only one in which Cosby has been charged.
Prosecutors are also expected to call to the stand a psychologist who is an expert on the behavior of sexual assault survivors and who will likely tell the jury that it is not unusual for victims to maintain contact with assailants.
Cosby and Constand met while Constand worked for the Temple University women's basketball team and Cosby, the school's most famous alumnus, was serving as a university trustee.
