She would never do anything to put any of them in harm's way. "Had she ever received any information to cast doubt on the appropriateness of that trust in Dr. Nassar, she would have reacted immediately to protect her gymnasts", Bobryk said.
University spokesman Jason Cody confirmed Kathie Klages' suspension but offered no details and didn't say whether it was related to Dr. Larry Nassar.
The allegation - the third made specifically against Klages - was first made in a court document filed January 27 seeking to add the athlete to the federal lawsuit against Michigan State University, Nassar, USA Gymnastics and Twistars gymnastics club in Dimondale. The woman said Klages was her coach when she was a teenager in a Michigan State youth program. "This conversation left Plaintiff feeling intimidated, embarrassed, and scared, and caused Plaintiff to believe that nothing illegal or tortious was happening".
The court documents White filed also say that in September, after sexual assault allegations against Nassar first became public, an MSU official went to the women's gymnastics team and told them not to answer questions from police or media about Nassar.
Bobryk's statement says that Klages is "deeply disturbed" by the allegations about Nassar.

But these allegations have made it impossible to do her job, Klages' statement says, describing them as a "distraction to her professional responsibilities and detrimental to her overall well-being". Her recent suspension as head coach is a effect of that,"according to the statement".
Klages is retiring "out of respect to the university and the gymnastics program".
Nassar has been accused of molesting more than 60 former patients, including at least one Olympic medalist. In two separate criminal cases, he's charged with sexually abusing a girl at his Lansing-area home and possessing child pornography.
"I think what you're going to hear and what we have heard over the course of the last several months is that there is some sort of medical procedure that he was performing on these women and that this procedure is appropriate and it's been accepted in the medical community", White said. Nassar faces state charges for sexually assaulting a patient, federal charges for child pornography, and was sacked by MSU in late 2016 after questions about his conduct.
