San Diego hopes it can lure the Raiders to a refurbished Qualcomm Stadium with the $500 million-plus Davis would have to pay National Football League owners for a relocation fee to Las Vegas.
Goodell said Wednesday the league is looking into playing the 2017 game in Mexico City on a Sunday rather than Monday night.
The Patriots are the crown jewel of the Raiders' 2017 home slate, and giving that game to Mexico City is a disappointing, yet expected turn for Oakland Raiders fans hoping to welcome Tom Brady to the Black Hole. "We enjoyed tremendous support from the Raider Nation in Mexico in 2016 and look forward to experiencing that great passion again this year". Per the NFL's schedule rotation, the Steelers would have a 2018 game at the Raiders though it's not certain that would be the matchup. Afterward, much of the attention was centered on the officiating blunders that screwed over the Texans and the laser pointers that were shined in Brock Osweiler's eyes.
The report said the Steelers "were exploring" a 2017 game in Mexico City before the National Football League decided on Patriots vs. Raiders.
Go Red to support women's heart health during February
Sanford Health, El Riad Shriners and the American Heart Association are all teaming up to put it on. Go Red for Women is an annual campaign created to increase awareness about heart disease in women.
"I don't see an ownership position in a team from a casino", Goodell said.
This actually won't be the Patriots' first trip to Mexico City. The game in Mexico is the fifth global game confirmed for 2017, adding to the four previously announced games in London, and a testament to the NFL's increased commitment to growing the game beyond the borders of the United States.
The Patriots last played in Oakland in 2011, winning 31-19. We want our fans to know that the game they are seeing unfold on the field does not have any undue influence.
"We have a tremendous fan base in Mexico", Goodell added.
