Winds will then pick up out of the northwest, generating lake-effect snow by Thursday afternoon and persist through Friday afternoon until the winds shift again.
The first system that's expected to hit Friday is projected to bring about a half inch of rain before the colder of the two systems arrives Saturday, bringing with it more precipitation and lows in the 40s. The flurries and snow showers will subside Friday night. There's only a 30 percent chance of snow there.
Temperatures are expected to dip dramatically early next week, and chances of snowfall are in the forecast Tuesday and Wednesday.
